Jesus speaks to Saint Thomas Aquinas

Miracle of the Cross of Saint Thomas Aquinas

Saint Thomas Aquinas is best known for his work as a writer for the Summa Theologica, which has been a great source of theology.

Later in his life, when Saint Thomas Aquinas was in Salerno, finishing the third part of his Summa, which deals with the Passion and the Resurrection, he was kneeling before the Altar in ecstasy.

He could feel the overwhelming presence of the Lord in the room. He looked at the crucifix.

It started to glow brightly. Jesus came back alive and spoke to Thomas.

There is a very special conversation that St. Thomas Aquinas had with the Lord, which we have used as a motto for our ministry.

He was told: “You have written me well, Thomas. What do you want as a reward?” Thomas burst into tears when he replied, “Nothing, Lord. I’m doing everything for you.”

At this point, Saint Thomas Aquinas went into ecstasy and levitated.

His entire body floated in the air and hovered over the chapel. All the brothers of the convent entered the chapel where he prayed and saw him suspended in the air.

Towards the end of his life, he stopped working on the Summa Theologiae, one of the most famous treatises ever written on the existence of God.

When asked why by the brother who worked with him, he replied: “The end of my work has come. Everything I have written seems to be more than straw after the things that have been revealed to me.”

He had been celebrating mass; and went into ecstasy.

Thomas Aquinas never divulged what the Lord had revealed to him, but it was enough for this great man to stop working on a treatise that he had been preparing for five years.

As he lay dying, after making his last confession and receiving viaticum, he said:

“I receive You, Price of the redemption of my soul; all my studies, my vigil and my labors have been for love of You. I have taught and written much about the Most Sacred Body of Jesus Christ and the Holy Roman Church, in whose judgment I offer and I submit everything. “

Two days later our Angelic Doctor, as he was called, went to his reward with Jesus His Love.

That day, Saint Albert, who was in Cologne, shouted: “Brother Thomas Aquinas, my son in Christ, the light of the Church, has died. God has revealed it to me.”
